Great I had always hoped to see things improve. A beautiful morning out there, the Sun is shining again (feeling relieved, that the binaries finally work a bit) Last week the APL hitting the streets, a week before that USIV+ reaching 2.4GHz. Niagara2 and Rock soon to come. Proud of being a sparc enthusiast and enjoying developments, after a loong period of darkness. It's just nice. > What would be required for Xvideo support? > (/usr/X11R6/bin/xvinfo returns > no adapters) Yeah, it is odd. With the sunffb driver I get the same. While I do get proper /usr/X11/bin/xvideo output on PGX32 (glint_drv.so). It seems to be a limitation in the sunffb driver. There is also a contradiction: "xdpyinfo|grep XVideo|wc -l" says 1, also under a box with AFB or FFB, where sunffb is used, i.e. my Ultra10. I assume /usr/X11/bin/xvinfo's output is more accurate, which means, that XVideo was not loaded properly, mmhh ... But the sunffb driver should normally have XVideo suffort, as the following output suggests: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-sparc64/2005-November/003571.html I have to go now, before I can make further investigations. *If* it works for *bsd, we will also get it working for us.
