Alright Mark, now we're getting somewhere.
These "attacks" as you are calling them is actually a booter. Someone has your name in their booter, to boot you whenever they are online or whenver you come online. They do not need to be on your friends list to do this, only to have your name. What this does is log in as few as 1 and as many as 1,000 yahoo IDs, known as bots. Each of these bots send you a request for either file transfers, pm's (pm bomb), Imviornment request, conference request, cam request, etc. This totally cloggs up your port and no traffic gets thru and boom you are disconnected from messenger. This is ONLY an attack on messenger, NOT on your computer. However your as your internet connection is swamped with information, your anti-virus software is in fact affected, but not because of someone getting into your computer, it's because it is detecting a port overload from the boot. Is a way to protect yourself?? Of course there is. Can you tell me if you have a program such as Ytunnel??? Can you let me know when you are online and I can go thru the settings to get you set up so that it will be very difficult to boot you. The only way a trojan will be put on your computer, is if YOU put it there. For example if you accept a file from someone you ASSUME is your friend, it could have a trojan in it and that person may not really be your friend, but someone who has taken your friends name and is sending out malacious files. Another way by downloading files and information online. My suggestion is to get and run the following software. Adaware Spy bot search and destroy AVG Anti Virus - http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup/avg70free_300a456.exe house calls - online virus checker Run all these programs - if you are worried about trojans... But what you are talking about is definately a messenger boot. Let me know. --- In [email protected], "Mark" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > WEll, I have these attacks while my yahoo messenger isw up and > running, even under different User ID's then this one.
