Thanks Rick. I will try your suggestion but suspect that the problem may be on the other end. Still, the strange thing in 3.0B is that "view webcam" never shows a prompt window UNLESS the contact is offline; while online there is an alert sound but no window. Seems like a bug to me, especially since 2.5.3 worked receiving video (though not very well).
