[Y!M] My yahoo messenger on Vista can't read my password

I can't get on or in to yahoo messenger 9.  I've went in and changed the 
password twice today.  Then I read somewhere that I needed to highlight my user 
name and hit the delete key on my pc, retype my yahoo ID and do the same with 
the password.  I have done all of that and still can't get into messenger.  CAN 
ANYONE IN HERE HELP ME?????
