Hey, I'd been awake working on that for almost 3 days and nights. It might have even started talking to you if you had been here! But thank you anyway, what I was doing wrong was loading any messenger on there instead of finding one for Vista. You gave me the idea where the problem was. So hold up on the bad talk and keep up the good work. Floyd Bowmam

Vista is a lot different than XP for many users. I always ran a LOT of security on my XP machines so the switch to Vista wasn't too bad but the "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" got me when I got my first Vista computer and was installing SpyBot on it. Spybot wouldn't immunize properly and I had to go to the Spybot forums to figure out that it was the "RUN AS ADMINSTRATOR" mode that was stopping it. Since then, I know to do this with certain programs that will not run right otherwise. It's part of Vista's built in security but it's just something that was never on XP. LNVTM1 - Lenny Vasbinder wrote: What is saying "you didn't have permission"? Give me details on exactly what it is saying, take a screen shot if you have to and post the image in an online photo album or the group's photos section and give me the link to the image. Are you the owner of the Vista computer? If yes, are you running the computer in the Administrator mode? Do you still have the UAC (User Access Controls) turned on so that you get a pop-up asking if you are sure you want to do certain things and then you have to say YES? If yes, go to the Start Menu, then navigate to the Yahoo Messenger folder and then to the actual button that you would normally click to start Yahoo Messenger, right click on that and choose RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR (DO NOT try this with one of the several shortcuts that YM usually creates, such as on your desktop, quicklaunch, etc.). Now try starting up YM again from that button and see if it works. Also, you never answered many of my other questions about firewalls, etc.. Re-read my previous reply and give more info. My yahoo knows me but my yahoo messenger does not! I tried to remove yahoo messenger from my control panel and then reinstall it. It said that I didn't have permission to do that. I can read my mail just fine. I'm running Vista if it matters. Can anyone help me?
