OK.  Even if you didn't have to log into anything, more than likely this
fake website was loaded with drive-by malware.  In a reply I just sent a few
minutes ago, I asked about which browser you are using.  If an older version
of any browser and especially if an older version of IE (either 6 or 7), the
criminals have found ways to infect people just by them visiting a malicious
website with one of these older browsers.  Upgrade to IE8 and upgrade your
computer security as set forth in my previous reply.

I still think your buddy was infected first and that is why you got the IM
from him.  He also needs to clean up his computer.  I explained about these
malicious IM's and websites in my previous reply.

I was not tricked into signing in.  It was a website made to loook like a
newspaper from Los Angelos but the article was about a bizzare work at home
scheme and various links to get more info about it.

The really bizzare thing was how they got it to look like a post from the
buddy I was IMing with.
