Cdes,

I like Sabelo think that we are taking this matter far. Yes education is needed
and that cannot be a panacea to the problems facing the youth. You see capacity
building does not talk to formal education only. However we must encourage our
members to pursue the Back to School Campaign to arm ourselves with the
necessary agility to confront the enemy but also to be able to read the
environment that requires exposure to global forces that we seeks to interact
with. I must say true to the course that this si a good start Tshepo and we
should take it as an input that begin to do what we could call Self-criticism.

The bottom line Tshepo is that most youth and by translations our members in
Townships are highly unemployed and the excuse is that they are not educated
and hence I accept that the paper exposes the weaknesses in our movements to
organise youth into Cooperatives and other forms of Community driven Projects
that seeks to empower the very same youth.

Having said so, cde Tshepo, it will be wrong for us to want to have a uniform
approach to our different Zones and Branches, take an example of Stanza Bopape
and Mahlambandlopfu. The 1st is township based with its own problems including
the very same issue of education. The 2nd has its unique challenges and
education is not a challenge as in Stanza. To Mahlambandlopfu is the support
mechanism, as most youth are Tertiary based or young workers. Therefore we will
input on your paper to enrich it for further engagement maybe as we move
towards the Regional Conference in Tshwane.

I will forward my input by latest weekend. Once more thanks for the input.

Cdely,

Tom Mutshidza

cde sebata,

I have to say that your document is good. It has a lot of use full
information. I for have been asking the myself the same question.

On educated leaders i think that it would be unfair to base leadership on a
certificate. I do not think leadership is necessarily dependent on one's
level of education. I however somewhat understand where this comes from.
What I would suggest is that we should encourage people to broaden their
knowledge at all time when possible. I think we should encourage those who
do not have metric certificates to get them and those who have to further
their studies.

I am hoping that our leaders in branches, regional and national will look at
this document and they will not take it as criticism. But as a very good
suggestion and a way forward.

Another thing that i feel needs to be looked at is the visibility of these
branches. It is a mission to get a ANCYL branch. Tshepo, which branch are
you in?

I am looking forward to hearing what the masses have to say.
