Cdes Revolutionary Compliments for all young communists and those who subcribed to this forum for the year 2011 Dissapointed as I am to what Cde Moses did of raising the issue of Numsa Youth Desk which he is not a member of it and he raise it on a public platform. Fine cdes this may be in the interest of young communists as it deals with them on a point of productiion. But as a Numsa Youth Desk leader in the Eastern Cape issues that Moses raised are not of a substance on the operations of the NYD, infightings,faction and power mongers in the structure doesn't suggest that we have to take issues that are not of substance to this forum. I don't want to engage on what he has written but I want to ask the comrade not to say things that he cannot stand on them. I am afraid that NUMSA CC has done a blunder by not appointing the coordinator on a full time bases, this structure will never survive the next decade, that means that NUMSA CC does'nt recognize its youth, young metalworkers are being marginalised from participating in the constitutional structures gatherings. if we look in the level of employment in the metal and related sectors young people are the majority and are the most Learned people who will need to conscientised about the important of joining the trade union in particular numsa this is the responsibility of the youth desk, now if young people are marginalised numsa wont have its memebrship growing, for example when you call numsa the welcoming tone says numsa has 263 000 members, the question is when will this membership increase as the industries are mainly dominated by young people, and that majority of the members are the older citizens. if we look at the new economical growth path of both COSATU and ANC the main sector which will create jobs for the youth is the MANUFACTURING SECTOR, if NUMSA doesnt serve the interests if its youth they wont catch them young.The questions should be asked it is democratically wise to wear two caps with in the workers organization? The other thing that I have observed is that NUMSA no longer serve the interest of its memebers, it is no longer as militant as it use to be, it is no longer as revolutionary as it use to be, it is no longer in the media as it use to be, one should be aware that before the appointment the new media desk officer, whom i think in my view he want to hijack the NUMSA Youth Desk and fight the battle of the YCLSA to serve the interest of those who lost in the last congress the youth desk has been buried alive. NUMSA should bring back its culture, lets focus on recruiting young workers educate them about the importance of joinig the trade union, let us not focus on personal gain but collective ones.
