Little bit confused as to why would the party  issued the communiqué
welcoming  devastating elements of Gear and four months later met Cosatu  in
bilateral meeting in which the policy entirely was criticized by both.Question
then remain who welcome  Gear? Was the SACP CC  divided .Subsequent to that in
the 10

th congress may 1997 delegates did not welcome Gear and june  mail and guardian
published  the article “Why SACP wont jive to Gear”.Clearly there must be
something that we do not know in the Party perhaps the perks in govermen

Comrades

I thought comrades will as a question of whether the SACP economic policy
perspectives are progressive, in light with its original position on GEAR,
endorsement of ASGISA and now NGP and more recently the opposition to
Nationalisation of Mines and other strategic sectors of the economy (even
when defined as socialization). I thought so because the initial observation
of neo-liberal consistency was suggesting that there are neo-liberal
undertones in the CP's economic policy views and the capitulation to NGP is
reflective of such.

Those who disagree with this should then illustrate how progressive the
Communist Party is on economic policy and those who agree should like I did,
expose some of the weaknesses of the Communist Party's views concerning the
economy and government growth strategies and approaches since 1996. The
petty squabbles we'll not entertain, because they are just that--petty.
