Dear Cde Tom,

The purpose of posting material here is to provide occasion for dialogue.

Anyone can do it.

There is no censorship.

We work ourselves forward by dialogue. It's dialectical.

If you are sheltered, you will not learn how to deal with what you call
"brainwashing", comrade.

The group is moderated to exclude "spam", "junk mail" and other destructive
material. That's all.

If I disagree with the editorial of the Business Day, I am at liberty to
say so, and to say why. It forces me to articulate my disagreement. If I do
it badly, I help the thing I want to argue with. If Gugu, for example,
thinks I am being horrid to Trevor, then I lose Gugu's support and Trevor
gets it. To avoid such things you have to practice.

Worse, I can be advocating dialogue, but somebody like you, Cde Tom, thinks
I am bashing somebody and trying to crush the other side.

Without another side to the dialogue, there can't be a dialogue. You only
learn by dialogue. That is the basic presumption of the Communist
University, following Paulo Freire. No dialogue, no learning.

So we must have a variety of contradictory material, Cde Tom, and that
means we do not censor.

Now, let me disagree with you about something. Neo-liberal is a jargon. It
has hardly any meaning by now. It used to mean throwing everything back to
market-based trading. But now, the commodity markets have been destroyed.
The money has become arbitrary. "Neo-liberal" is a term that has long since
ceased to adequately describe what is going on.

Best wishes,

VC
