My view is that the biggest challenge with this discussion it has moved away from the rape and sexual harassment against Cde Vavi but quickly moved to whether comrade Vavi is fit to occupy that office or not but we are using this case to defend him staying or removing him from the office, which I think it is wrong given the fact that as a nation we are trying very hard to curb women and child abuse. In the process we find ourselves contradicting the the very same principles because we want to save GS from humiliating departure from his office.
As well we need to acknowledge the fact that internal disciplinary processes are corrective processes that seeks to address an act of misconduct not to destroy or punish the accused. In my view the internal disciplinary process had done its part and that the charges are withdrawn, so we were supposed to think of the way in which now we would have both employees of COSATU back at work harmoniously, which I think the best way would be to reshuffle.
