I like this idea, because you could arguably find a lot from this. There are
lots of pages that I link about some subject so I don't lose them but aren't
"shining stars" of pages. It would good for "self" to have a gold star (GS)
to check for links that stand out to me.
Then good for "society" aspect of GS would be an algorithm to return things
of interest that are good. This could be expensive, but in general or in a
certain set of tags the user specifies:
* find people with good ratio of (GS items that I've also GSed) / (items
I've also bookmarked)
* these people will be more likely to have good GSs in the area of interest
* this doesn't rely on tally system so traditional spam doesn't work, but
hopefully there would be a way to weed out low producers to avoid spam from
super high ratio (1 posters).
