I dumped preferences and the problem remains.

the only way I could work around this problem for the 450 item import
was to change the password to an empty space and then back again, once
the import was done.

but the problem is still there, why do I have to enter my password each
time when I create a new password?

main question is, how can this be fixed?

nobody else have this problem?
