Yoper Devs,

First and foremost. I like the Yoperstuff page. I think it'd be a nice spot
for developer blogs, etc. It brings to mind many ideas though:

Personally, I'd like to incorporate this into the main Yoper website. The
design we have going now is currently not serving our needs, and it needs to
be moved over to a CMS of some sort so that it can grow nicely, and so that
it can provide very active content to readers.

I have been busy this school year. It will be over in a day :) So I'm sorry
for the lack of work done on the main site, but I have been silently
evaluating CMS systems. Two which I like:

Drupal 4.7 -- php_template is very nice and with enough skilled workers
behind it, we could have a very unique customer php theme to our site. So
despite the fact that it's powered by Drupal, it won't look like every other
Drupal page out there. I have not done adequate research into seeing how
well our forums and bugtracker can be encapsulated into the design.

Joomla -- As you can see from Walter's site, it can be themed nicely to suit
our needs. I haven't looked into how well our forums or bugtracker could be
encapsulated into this either.

I think that a CMS is essential though. It provides easy RSS, Drupal has
great album plugins that we could use for screenshots, existing information
can be moved and expanded on like we want. I'd like to see things like a
static-content install guide on the main Yoper page, not "hidden" (people
often don't look to far) in the wiki.

My main question would be, is there a team that wants to work with me this
summer to move the Yoper website over into a CMS system? Once moved to CMS I
think we'll all be much happier with the website serving our needs. All
those interested in helping out please email me... I'd like to start a team
on this one.

Other feedback is encouraged as well :) Soon I'll be back and ready for
action! Finals are over tomorrow!
