Hi Jim,
The Entourage Help Page mentions "Synchrospector." Is this still
relevant
with Snow Leopard? An item listed as "SimpleStickies" is still there

says it's for Snow Leopard.
It is. It’s a simple front -end application showing you the state of
the sync for different services, allowing you to force a slow sync or
reset it.
For the moment, my plan is to leave MS Sync Services enabled for a few
hours. I'll add and delete a few test events both to my calendar in
Entourage and to my "Entourage" calendar in iCal. If I get no error
reports,
then I'll turn event synchronization OFF in Entourage prefs and turn
it ON
for Entourage Notes and see what happens, then turn IT off and turn
MS Sync
Services on for Address Book entries (with the Dymo Label prefs set
NOT to
use Apple Address Book for ITS database). If those all work without
triggering the MS Sync Services error report, I'll set the new Dymo
Label
app to use the Apple Address Book and see if that triggers the error
reporting.
Does that sound like a reasonable approach? Any other suggestions?
Well you’re approach is a good approach. There is one thing you didn’t
Sy you did though, it’s to rebuild the Entourage identity (launch
Entourage pressing the Option key down).
Multiple things can induce these crashes. Most of the time it’s a
corrupted item (event, contact, etc) but it could be a corruption of
the Sync Service cache.
If everything fails, you might have to reset the sync service cache
and start fresh (I hate that).
You might also consider using Spanning Tool for Mac (http://spanningtools.com/mac/
). It’s a good shareware that helped me get rid of nasty, nasty sync
issues. One of the things it does and that seems most relevant here is
to scan the iCal database looking for events with the same UUID.
