Put the file on your Desktop and select it. Choose File --> Get Info. Under "Open With" select Entourage and select the option there to always open with Entourage. Close the Get Info window and remove the ".vcs" from the file name. Again, select it and choose File --> Get Info. Verify the file name indeed does not contain ".vcs" and that it's simply not being hidden. And again, select Entourage as the opening application and select the option to always open with Entourage.
