Hi Richard, I don’t use Yahoo, but be sure all the advanced setting are correct.
Finding a fast DNS Server. <http://code.google.com/p/namebench/> "Try out namebench. It hunts down the fastest DNS servers available for your computer to use. namebench runs a fair and thorough benchmark using your web browser history, tcpdump output, or standardized datasets in order to provide an individualized recommendation. namebench is completely free and does not modify your system in any way. When you finish the test, open System Preferences > Network > Advanced then click on the DNS tab to enter the new settings. Another option is to let Gmal fetch your POP Yahoo account. I have way too many email addresses so recently added them to my Gmail IMAP account. I can still select to send from that address. I have a rule that looks at the headers so I know which ones are being forwarded to me. I would consider phasing out the Yahoo account since it has given you go much trouble. -- Diane On Sat, Apr 24, 2010 at 2:55 PM, Richard Kriss <[email protected]> wrote: > I have no idea what Entourage is talking about > or what I need to check. > > I think pop.att.yahoo.com has some crappy hardware > as I never (ever) see this error when contacting > the pop.gmail server. > > Sometimes att works and sometimes it does not > > > Error: > > Entourage cannot find the server.
