Usually it happens within a few hours, sometimes even
minutes. Sometimes it work flawlessly for some days...

I'm trying this: I'm listening to a web radio,
downloading a movie from archive.org and emerge
--fetchonly kde

No way, it doesn't give any sign of a disconnect...
I will try also on other machines to see if I can get
something useful...
