Hi Ed, Thank you for consistently offering resources and insight here. It is amazing how fast research in neuroscience changes. I have mentioned it before, but will offer again, for those with an interest in meditation and brain science, a link to a relevant video. I also recommend looking through Rick Hanson, Ph.D.'s newsletter and wise-brain blog. Free, and offers articles, videos, and other references. Particularly palatable for non-scientists and those interested in the bridge between science and spirituality. The video link below is a 60-minute lecture by Rick, and provides an excellent discussion to these topics. About 15 minutes into the discussion, he begins to relate buddhism, meditation and relevant brain science findings. I hope those with an interest will find a time to watch it. He wrote the book "Buddha's Brain...", with an M.D., which offers fairly current thinking on this subject. As you know, a year--let alone a decade in this evolving subject, is a lifetime. Again Ed-- thanks for all you do here. k www.youtube.com/buddhasbrain I

In a study that will appear in the January 30 issue of Psychiatry Research: Neuroimaging, a team led by Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) researchers report the results of their study, the first to document meditation-produced changes over time in the brain's grey matter. <snip> http://www.physorg.com/news/2011-01-mindfulness-meditation-brain-weeks.html
