I think anyone who has read the first section of Man's Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl would have to answer this in the affirmative, if by "spiritual practices" you include "adjusting your perspective." Does zazen make difficult times easier? For me, when it is a difficulty that is affected by perspective, it does. Does it prevent pain and loss? Not a bit. It makes sadness clean and pure, just sadness. Life ends, energy flags, weeds grow and flowers die. But that isn't reason to freak out. ------------------------------------ Current Book Discussion: any Zen book that you recently have read or are reading! Talk about it today!Yahoo!
