Big as Manhattan Island, on the large side. You don't want to be hit by that, anywhere on earth. The tail is pretty: the head is not! It is like a hammer. The energy of collision would be like that of tens of millions of (rather large) hydrogen thermo-nuclear bombs. Note that energy goes as the velocity (of impact) SQUARED. That's a big factor, as velocity goes up, say. But no impact would be safe, because Cosmical velocities are always quite high.
