Hi ED,

To me, Chan is quite scientific, logical, easy to understand, grasp and experience. Nature, God, Buddha, universe, Chan, heart, spirit are one of the same, because the spirit of it, the essence of it, the true form of it, are the same. Just like my spirit and your spirit are the same --- essence, center/base of phenomena.

I don't consider anything supra-normal, un-earthly, super-natural. On the contrary, everything is real, natural, down to earth and AS IS. Our spirit can sync to everything. Nothing special, difficult, hard to understand, supernatural, spiritual about that.

Therefore, Chan practice must include our body, mind and spirit, because that's what Chan is -- wholeness. no separation, no distinction, no need to understand. It just is.

Or in the language of Chan, ONE and ALL.

Not sure I directly answered your question. :-)

JM, whatever phenomenon you consider to be 'spiritual' in Chan and by
any criterion, is it a natural phenomenon happening in the phyical
world, or can it be supranormal?
