I can only speak for myself, but the two zen teachers I had access to used 
EVERYTHING as meditative practice.  Examples other than the ones you gave are 
chanting, bowing, kinhin, eating, household chores, gardening, bushing your 
teeth, CLEANING YOUR BOWLS, etc... - virtually anything can be used as a 
technique to practice meditation.
