Bill, Not sure if that's a fair call. You might be right that humans only contribute a small part to global warming and that natural forces play a substantially larger role. But it's quite clear that humans are chopping down huge swathes of old growth forests, polluting drinking water, causing the salt to destroy land thru using up the water table, acid rain etc etc. I wouldn't say Merle is like the woman who cried "Communist!" but didn't know what it meant. Regarding global warming, I would say Merle is like most of us who wouldn'tbe able to accurately state the difference between a communist and socialist.
