Speaking for myself, Dad taught me to chop wood, carry water, etc.

I wish to God he could have met my Shih-fu, or your Teachers.  They would have 
been Jake with him!  Dad died too young, after doing that work for 50 years.  I 
carry on, but that's mostly WHAT I do.  He was a lot more productive.

But, for him too, words were GOADS, not Gods!

So, yes, dem hard-hats kin teach a guy, you betcha.  Known any?
