Hong Yeong Soo, When I was younger and was raising a family I never could get my wife interested in zen. She was a devout Catholic. I once asked my teacher (roshi) about teaching my kid's to sit. They were pretty young at the time. He told me it was enough that I sit as an example to them, and just to answer any questions they had. He told be the best zen practice for them was for me to 'just let them be kids'.
Now my second wife is Buddhist but practices Theravada Buddhism. She does 'sit' sometimes (she calls it 'samadhi') and from what she's told me it is very similar to shikantaza (clear mind). We have sat together before but usually do so on our own according to our own schedules. ...Bill! --- In [email protected], yonyonson@... wrote: > > do you ever sit zazen with your family? > > hong yeong soo > > On 12/7/12, Chris Austin-Lane <chris@...> wrote: > > Since is that that you use now ?
