Merle,

Of course I have not looked at the naked link. Even with your sentence added
as a hoped-to-be loin-cloth, I saw no substance in the sentence which you put
as a question. There's no "zen" anything, like that. But you still use the
word in adolescent and meaningless fashion.

I just want to say that I have not taken your advice to inspect all those sand
grains that you claimed would "blow my mind". I'm with Mike, in favoring just
one, and seeing lots about lots in just one.

And then, to go on to other things is only natural.

For example, yesterday was a fine Presidents' Day holiday here. A really full
day. I didn't get on the computer!

The Lou Reed and Lennon re-visitations on my part here left me in powerful need
of only fresh air, next day, to wash the revolting heroin connotations from
memory, of junk-neighborhoods, etc., in New York City, and those times. Done
with it now for another ten years, I think. Don't let me go on about it again,
please. ;-)

It was a day of birding. Here, you don't have to go far, ...or anywhere.
Despite the nearness of our world-famous Madeira Canyon for birding, I did not
even go that far. And before setting out on the day, I sighted a bird new to
me, from my yard! The voices caught my attention first, then the form and
color and markings and behavior. Two individuals. The Eurasian Collared-Dove!
Beautiful full and plump plumage, mostly white, with some auburn wing
features, and the dark half collar at the back of the neck. Not native, an
introduced species here in 2001, and now all over the lower 48 States (USA).
But my first time seeing them. A new one on the life-list. Just delighted!

They returned today. Maybe a nesting pair. I'll try feeding them. (and keep
the cat inside).

The bird's the thing!

And yes; Mike, and Merle: the flower.
