Joe, "Teacher would not insult"????? O really, reread the Zen chronicles. There were some VERY tough Zen teachers and they were VERY effective... Missing fingers counted for nothing... Zen teachers nowadays are namby pamby wimps compared to them.... Maybe that's why so few students attain true realization now...
