Bill!,
It's worse. It's a virus. Or the sickness caused thereby.
I predict the virus will not spread, even if Edgar or ones of that ilk should
ever presume to teach one day.
Having heard of his model, anyone with a lick of sense will know enough to drop
it. Anyone awakened will also definitely compassionately urge him to wake up.
Well, Bill!, kind of as we've all been doing here, so kindly.
On the other hand, Edgar and his fixation might be typical of that person who's
one-in-a-Billion: one who founds a new religion. I think that's where he's
headed, Bill!, I really do! A new one, to be added to the dust-bin of
forgotten history, and not even history. In fact, I've forgotten it already.
Whew. What a load off. And what a load of... crap it was!
"Elron" Hubbard might have liked that man. Even if not Will Rogers.
A fine book on the "new religions" of Japan which arose and fell fast,
following WWII, is: RUSH HOUR OF THE GODS, by H. Neil McFarland (1967).
Still, my feelings and hopes for Edgar are unchanged. Finding a good teacher
is NOT enough, though: one must also be a good student. That takes work,
determination, questioning, and a cessation of dreaming. I'm dubious it's in
the cards for our friend, but he might still show us what he's made of if he
goes for it, runs with it, and reforms.
