Mountain?

I've been deep in the basement.  I think Bill!'s been there too with open eyes. 
 I tried to tell him it was a wine-cellar, and that he unabashedly shows that 
he wants to keep all the stored vintages to himself, by his not honoring the 
set of stairs that brought him down there, by otherwise keeping the stairs in 
good repair and a little well-lit for others.  But I think he's forgiven me 
this kindly metaphor, or we just decided to toast each other despite it.
