I was thinking of being at sea. Something I read today reminded me of this.

When you're at sea, far from any land, you can look around from the deck or
crow's nest and see the ocean. Look in any direction. Keep turning. Stand
still and take a wide-angle view, too.

What do you see? Ocean; sky. What about the ocean? It looks... round.

Is "round" an experience?

You certainly get -- have -- a SENSE of round. And there's very little else
going on to distract you.

So, maybe the experience is of "round".

Is this an illusion? Is it a delusion? Is it an experience?

Now, go ahead and take a commercial flight into space, or sub-space, in a few
years. Out the porthole, you can have a look at an ocean. You can see a shape
to it. Is this seeing an experience? An illusion, a delusion? Doe the ocean
look round? No; the ocean does not look round.

Will the "real" Ocean please stand up?
