Hello AC, No, I don't WANT a center for the blind where they can be 'taken care of' and cared for. This is the 21st century where blind people are working in all kinds of professions like teaching, counseling and journalism just to name a few. In 2002 a blind guy climbed Mt. Everest and blind people have sailed oceans and walked across the country alone.
What most blind people WANT is equal opportunity and for society to stop thinking of them as charity cases. Put aside the monkey mind and preconceived ideas and you might find blind people are intelligent capable people. There are even blind Buddhists.............on this list. End of soap box. JODY From: Jody W Ianuzzi Hey, the Lepers and the blind shouldn't be in the same nitch!>> You don't expect the Buddhists to set up a Center for Lepers and a separate one for the Blind do you? Jesus, that would cost money. ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Make a clean sweep of pop-up ads. Yahoo! Companion Toolbar. Now with Pop-Up Blocker.
