Dear Ryunen-san,

It is true that we cannot demonstrate our skill by attempting to control
others, we can only attempt to control our own reactions to what other's
  do.

If woo-woo Zen was a real help, I would be the leading advocate of a
gonadless, woo-woo, la la zen.

Just because Al has less tolerance for woo woo crap than some, and may
be less skilled at whacking heads with sticks than some. It does not
mean that the woo woo head should blame Al for getting whacked. Sooner
or later the real world will whack it. Is Al compassionate for whacking
sooner than later? I am not wise enough to say. He is a part of the
real world however, and to pretend he should not exist, or does not
exist is not any sort of compassion at all.

I agree that compassion is just doing what needs to be done now. This is
not to say, however, compassion is just doing what you think needs to be
done now. It does involve some skill in being able to see what really
needs to be done. Compassion is skillful means. Skillful means you have
to have some skill.

Compassion means you cannot pretend something does not exist. It means
you have to acknowledge the crap, and use it as it is meant to be used,
as fertilizer for growth.

Be Well
