Dear Jane,

It is nice of you to fantasize what you think I say, unfortunately you
missed a bit.

1. There are no real people here. This is an electronic mail service. A
high tech mail box..there are no people in your mail box, there are no
people in your electronic mail box either..there are no real little
people in your computer. There are real people presenting what they
choose here, but we do not really see them, smell them or hear the
timbre of their voice. They are not really here.

2. Mail is a communication between real people. They are where they are
though, they are not here. It is not the same as a real encounter, here
you can throw the envelope or the email in the trash. In a real
encounter with a real person, closing your eyes does not make them go
away. This is a communication medium, it is not real life. You do not
really know me, nor would you even know if you passed me on the street.

3. I never said my word on this list could have no effect. I said they
could not have the kind of effect people were trying to put on them. I
did say this is not a real place, and there are no real people here. The
people are over there, and over there..there is no place where we really
are together.

4. My words can piss off someone. They can make someone see that what
they think they have is only an illusion..just like the idea that "this
place where we meet together is real" is only an illusion. It is not
really the same as meeting together in person. It is not really the same
as being in the same place at the same time. We are not really here
because there is no here to be....let us just quit this pretending
ok?..no one is really hit, no one is really killed, no one is really
embarassed any longer then they choose to be, unlike real life they can
leave anytime they want. One click and we are gone forever. We are not
dead, we were not really there in the first place. Let us quit
pretending something is really happening here...there is no here.

There are real people there though. But we cannot see them, hear them or
smell them, and we cannot have a real encounter with them because we are
not really together. We can communicate, but we are not together. We are
not in the same place in reality.

That being said this medium can be used for communication. One can
exchange a view. I do not think one can have a teacher/disciple
relationship on the Internet because one can not be virtually
awakened..just like one cannot be virtually pregnant. you either are or
are not. This medium is so dense that some can pretend to be. When you
cannot really see the kind of demonstration a real teacher would demand
in a real life encounter, then you just cannot make that sort of
demonstration here. This is an electronic list, it is not real...even
printing my word on paper so the mail is real where you are does not
make me there, or even virtually there.

One can communicate the need for a real teacher in your real life to
solve your real problems, and that a virtual teacher can solve your
virtual problems, but the problems that really plague you are real
problems, and that they need real solutions.

When we pretend this is real life, or even like real life we do a
disservice to all who come here. When we encourage others to do so we
are perpetuating a fraud. This is not even a real discussion, in a real
discussion I can use facial expressions, body language, and gestures to
give a nuance to my words that cannot be communicated here....this is
even a piss poor method of communication, but that does not mean it is
not useful at times.

No one gets an envelope from the bank in the mail and says "oh the bank
is here!!" One cannot get money from a teller who is not really there.
One can get important information on their financial resources from the
information in the envelope, but if they do not like the information
they get, chances are it is not the banks fault they are unhappy. Even
if it is a foreclosure notice, you either are ignorant beyond belief, or
fully expecting it already because of something you did or did not do.
THE BANK IS NOT REALLY HERE though. The Bank is still over there where
it alway was, and if you want some cash you are going to have to go
where a teller really is. Why then when we get an email do we pretend we
are here? This is a fiction that is apparently more harmful than I
thought because people seem to actually believe it.

So which is it ...delusional or ignorant beyond belief??

***chuckle***there are real people here....***chuckle****I got a letter
from my bank and they forgot to send the teller.....got to get a new
bank. Rofl.
