All the soft-shoeing sounds like excess layering to me.

Maybe y'all been to nice to me, so I don't know what its like on the other end
of the gun barrell. But for me, what I have to learn might come in an ugly
package. I have exhausted enough options, read enough stupid books, had enough
fruitless conversations with argumentative jerks that these things seem
secondary.

I'd vote to have this forum be as true to practice as possible, and let the
positive vs. negative talk jsut work itself out. Practice while you post.
Practice while you read. Post about your practice. If one poster is
consitently detrimental, and we all clearly think it, then perhaps we banish
them to their own misery. Of course we might have just banished a Buddha -- so
I for one would not do it if I had a single second guess in me.

How much do harsh words sting? I mean, really? Even a fist to face bruises
the ego more than the cheekbone. Countless people have charged countless
fields of blood with certainty of death, or hunted saber-tooth swallowing
rational fear. Have we became so soft that we can only take discussions that
won't approach our pride, ego? Are we in that deep? Is our practice that
suceptible to derailment?
