---And without beautiful flowers there would be no turds.
Al, I think you greatly misunderstand the fundemental concepts of Zen.
In my life I try to spread compassion and understanding, sometimes it
may not take the form you like; but it's still compassion. Take a
parent giving tough love to a child with a drug addiction. It's not
done to torment the child but to wake them up to the fact that their
actions are detrimental to their health and well being.
And there's a difference between doing that and just being an
ass. It's the difference between being malicious and pointing out the
obvious. Sometimes pointing out something obvious can seem mean but is
it really? Is a friend telling you you have a big chunk of lunch still
in your teeth being mean?
And as for this board thing you seem to have pigeonholed me into.
I have nothing against having feelings, it's totally normal human
behavior. I just see the pursuit of things which do not exist to be a
waste of time. If you can't find happiness here and now, you NEVER
will. Al, if I could give you one piece of advice I would say find a
teacher and experience some real Zen for a while. If you still don't
like it, then walk away and forget about it. And I say that with total
sincerity and compassion, Guy.
