As a business owner, I guess they have to find a way to earn money to pay
dev & co to keep solution updated.
For now I understand the enterprise edition is always more updated / in
advance and supported.
Maybe I am wrong, but I think i read somewhere you can have enterprise
version on VM, so it's not mandatory to use their hardware. It's just to
provide same experience as F5 & co.
Emilio, could we find a way so both community & Zen team are winning ?
Proposals:
- Delivers new feature on community edition firstly so we can help in
debug & feedback. I mean we could get them before they are "enterprise
ready" and accept more updates/bugfix
- Community can help on translation. I can do the french one
- Use a redmine or something so we can vote on features and
reports/follows bug outside of mailing list
- We can help writing tutorials for different use cases. For now I think
you only have one for Exchange.
- We can help writing module for monitoring, like through nagios plugins.
Just to say we are not just here for taking away Zen for free and not
adding value.
I am afraid if the community keep frustated by too old version we end up in
a fork, which would be a bad idea.
just my 2 cents

Mathieu CHATEAU
