It's very good for a 1 or two day test run to see what Zenoss is about. After that there are (IMHO) severe limitations to accessing the system and customizing it. Think of the current vmware version as a "predefined" box with little or no shell access, etc. That's good if you dont want to be able to penetrate the underlying OS, hackers are somewhat thwarted. It's not so good if you want to change a lot of things yourself.
Is there a ZENOSS ISO install (OS AND Zenoss)? If there was, then you would just make sure to have kernel-devel installed so you could load vmware tools and get timesync in check. It would be great to see a ZENOSS bootable ISO based on CentOs or something like that that people can put on a standard machine or vmware box to alleviate the install hassle. >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 03/27/07 15:13 PM >>> Hi all! Is the virtual appliance a complete and fully operational zenoss instalation just like if I would have if I installed it myself? Thanks...
