Steve,
Thanks for your input on this issue. I figured I wasn't the only one
that had a similar need. The only issue I see with pointing Cacti at
Zenoss-generated RRDs is that you have to go through and regenerate
the entire RRD drawing code for each graph. The level of effort seems
to be of diminishing returns. You'll have to re-define each data
input (source) in cacti, in the correct order. This wouldn't normally
be a big issue if Zenoss had a similar little "wrench" next to the
graph so you could get a rrdtool command line dump of how it
generated the graph; provided you have the drawing information, you
could, with much effort, re-define the data sources in Cacti.
I'm wondering if I should just stick with Cacti/Nagios. Hopefully
others will have some insight.
Thanks,

One thing I'm considering - once I get to the point where you are
(actually having Zenoss gathering all the data I'm interested in) is
setting up Cacti to use Zenoss's RRDs for displaying information.
This
might be a lot easier than customizing Zenoss to do what I want
(similar
to you, aggregating graphs from multiple sources into one page),
but has
the benefit of one poller, one data collector, and multiple ways to
display the information.
I've done that in Cacti previously to get Mailgraph data generated on
the mail server to display on the Cacti host, but it'll be a bit
more of
an undertaking for this one - so for now, they're running side-by-
side :>
