Alvin,

The event tab is for currently active events. The history tab keeps a
permanent historically record of all events. There is no automatic
pruning of the events in history. If you wish to prune them you can do
so by removing them from the events.history table in MySQL.

Events can be automatically moved from events to history by two
methods. The first is auto-clearing. When an event comes in with a
"clear" severity and matches an existing event, both the old event and
the clear event are moved to history.

The second method is an automatic timer that can be setup in the Event
Manager. You can choose to move events at or under a certain severity
to history after they reach a certain age. The default is to move
warnings and under to history after 4 hours.
