Anyone any ideas on this?
What Simon said is true, when this parseTag message is given it
doesn't affect whether or not the event gets into the event console
or not. All this means is that Zenoss is unable to assign an
eventClassKey to the event.
The most likely reason that this message wouldn't show up in the
event console is that there is an event mapping that is dropping it.
I'd suggest putting the following line into your $ZENHOME/etc/
zensyslog.conf file and restart zensyslog.
logorig 1
This will cause the syslog messages captured by zensyslog to be
written in raw format into $ZENHOME/log/origsyslog.log. You'll then
be able to see what the log is, and why Zenoss might be dropping it.
You could also put this line into zensyslog.conf:
logseverity 10
Then your $ZENHOME/log/zensyslog.log file will contain verbose
messages related to the event mapping that is performed on each event.
