Hi, I am attempting to monitor a process called MailScanner, but have come up against a problem :(
The process reports its current state when running which is making it very hard to define a regex eg. [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# ps -ef | grep MailScanner postfix 8582 1 0 Sep18 ? 00:00:05 MailScanner: starting child postfix 14630 8582 0 02:04 ? 00:00:03 MailScanner: waiting for messages postfix 14641 8582 0 02:04 ? 00:00:05 MailScanner: waiting for messages postfix 14646 8582 0 02:04 ? 00:00:08 MailScanner: waiting for messages postfix 14651 8582 0 02:04 ? 00:00:04 MailScanner: waiting for messages postfix 14656 8582 0 02:04 ? 00:00:04 MailScanner: waiting for messages postfix 14665 8582 0 02:04 ? 00:00:04 MailScanner: waiting for messages postfix 14707 8582 0 02:04 ? 00:00:04 MailScanner: waiting for messages postfix 14712 8582 0 02:04 ? 00:00:03 MailScanner: waiting for messages but the "waiting for messages" could also be "starting child" or "checking with spamassassin". as the process is constantly changing due to state Zenoss sometimes believes that the process is down. Therefore how can I just check for MailScanner, but not worry about the rest of the process information ? ------------------------ UxBoD -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=11191#11191 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
