It's my understanding that performance templates are applied based on the interface type. For example, if I have an interface whose "type" is ethernetCsmacd, then Zenoss will apply the ehternetCsmacd template to that interface.
I have a few divces that have an interface "type" of "Layer 2 Virtual LAN using 802.1Q" yet the ethernetCsmacd template is being applied to that interface. I have other interfaces with a "type" of "ds1" that also have the ethernetCsmacd template applied to them.
