I have a bit of an odd problem and I'm now officially stumped.

I had a linux server that was monitored with Zenoss that was recently powered
off and removed from the network. At this point, Zenoss obviously saw the
device as being down so I deleted it.

Now is where this problem comes in. I cannot for the life of me get the ping
failure event for this device to stop showing up in the event console. As a
matter of fact, the event console is the only place it shows up. As soon as I
move this event to history it is back within a minute.

This is what I've tried so far:

 - Adding the device back in and making sure everything is back up before
deleting it again, but still no luck.

 - Clearing all heartbeats

 - Clearing the event cache

When I add this machine (or even just the IP somewhere else) back to the
network, the event goes away until the IP goes off line again.

Can anyone suggest anything else to get this event cleared permanently?

Thanks,

Eric
