So far based on any discussions I've found it appears the only approach to monitoring remote sites (firewalled, different networks) is to install the zenoss monitors/daemons (e.g., zencommand, etc.) and have them "report" to a central monitor via zenhub.
And, it appears in this context the handshake with the master zenoss monitoring, the monitoring data are handed to the master zenoss and recorded to the database there. If this is so, 2 questions: Does mysql need to be installed on a remote zenoss network if it is sending its monitored data to a central monitor? If so, is there a way to install zenoss without it requiring mysql for the installation? -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=13133#13133 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
