Hey, my current project is to desin and implement Puppet/SVN into our environment, once that is done we are going to implement an Oracle Database.
I'm essentially creating a one stop shop CMDB that will grab some info from Zenoss as well as populate info into Zenoss. The CMDB will also grab info from our Netscalers (Cluster Info) and run scripts from puppet (Like parsing dmidecode) and adding that info to the CMDB. The goal of this project is to create a one stop shop for everything SysAdmin relates, for example, You want to add a new box to a cluster... 1- Add the device into CMDB 2- Tell it what cluster it will be in and what will be the hostname of the box. 3- Tell the CMDB to kickstart it. The CMDB will handle all the steps from there, it will add the box to dhcp, DNS, to the netscaler as well as install any packages necessary dpending on what cluster it is in. This will be a combined effort of multiple Appz, Zenoss, Puppet, SVN, Netscaler, Oracle, Turbogears, alot of Python love ;).
