I'm currently monitoring a number of Linux boxes over SNMP. Things are working great. I'm trying to take monitoring to the next level and have Zenoss run a remote script (nagios) over ssh to check log files for status messages.
I go and define the command in the template settings but I cannot get it to execute on the remote server. I setup zProperties, as well as key-based logins. I've even made sure to ssh from my zenoss monitor to the remote server to make sure host keys, usernames, etc. all line up. If I try and execute the command using zentestcommand, the script will only execute locally. I don't even see it attempt to do the remote ssh connection. The command itself is defined as a 'command' and execute over 'ssh' is set to true. Any ideas on what I'm missing? I'm hoping its something obvious on my part.
