So I'm about ready to pull my hair out. I've got a clean new CentOS 5.1 operating system with very little software installed. Of course, I have the prereq software for running Zenoss 2.1.1.

I install and start Zenoss 2.1.1 from the rpm on my 32-bit server and everything looks okay, but the zenperfsnmp, zencommand, and zenprocess daemons refuse to run.

All the errors are pretty similar between each daemon. Here's the log from the zencommand daemon:

2007-12-28 01:01:00 WARNING zen.zencommand: Reconnected to ZenHub
2007-12-28 01:01:00 ERROR zen.zencommand: iteration over non-sequence

These iteration over non-sequence errors always stem from a problem with zenhub, not zenperfsnmp, zencommand, etc. The first step I'd recommend would be to stop zenhub, delete $ZENHOME/var/zenhub-1.zec then start zenhub. If zenhub's persistent cache has become corrupt from an unclean shutdown, this will fix the problem and the other daemons will reconnect to zenhub once it is restarted.
