Even better than my previous post. If I just logon as root to my server, do a su - zenoss to become the zenoss user. Then run zenoss start to fire up all the daemons and zope services, then it all works! All the daemons startup as expected and no goofy "iteration over non-sequence" errors. So if I setup the same export variables as are found in the .bashrc script for zenoss user so I can run the zenoss start command as root, then the daemons all startup except the three again with same exception as before. The really odd thing is that no matter if I start zenoss logged in as root or zenoss, all the daemons are running are running under the zenoss user account and never root. I think that is expected. But when root starts the zenoss process vs. logging in as the zenoss user first and then starting the zenoss processes makes all the difference in the world right now. We are zeroing in on it, but still odd to me. I guess I need to understand the zenoss start script and see how it works. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=14761#14761 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
