Needed to elaborate on this.

The device has been added, and does show up on the Zenoss admin page. I've 
placed it in the ping class, so I'm not interested in the other aspects of 
monitoring, just the fact that it's alive on the network. If I shutdown the 
device, it still shows up as being alive - even though it is not ping-able.

I need to know how to configure Zenoss in such a way that if the device is down 
for more than a minute, I should get an email alert. I have configured and 
tested the email delivery. It works if I run the test configuration, and I do 
get the email. I don't get an email if the device is unavailable. 

I've been searching for the past 2 weeks and I haven't come across a solution. 
I've been through the manuals, and I didn't find a solution. Please help.
